GFG Gives
Our mission is to strengthen the communities we live and work in by supporting the organizations and causes that matter most to our team.
We believe giving is about more than financial support. It is about showing up, getting involved, and investing in the people and organizations making a meaningful difference. Through employee-nominated charitable giving and volunteer efforts, GFG Gives empowers our team to support causes they are personally connected to while extending Greenbush Financial Group’s commitment to making a positive impact beyond the work we do for our clients.
Because at Greenbush Financial Group, Giving Is Our Greatest Investment.
"The Ruger family loves animals and we have seen on social media that many of the local animal shelter are full and have to turn away dogs. We wanted to help a local dog rescue and we found Homeward Bound in Schenectady. Homeward bound is a rescue for dogs. They used to receive 3 surrender calls a week. Now they receive 60 surrender calls a week where people have to give up their dog for one reason or another. The organization is 100% volunteers and all of their dogs are placed with foster families until they find them a forever home. If interested in adopting a dog or becoming a foster parent for a dog, please see their website." -Mike
"Hearing the stories behind their mission truly inspired me to give back. With the holiday season approaching, I wanted to donate to help provide comfort, meals, and a welcoming place to stay for families who need to be close to their children receiving medical care. My hope is that this contribution helps ease some of the financial and emotional burdens these families face, especially during the holidays." -Rob
"The YMCA Basket Brigade is a program that provides Thanksgiving meals for local families in Capital District. The Thanksgiving meals are assembled in baskets at the local YMCA's, loaded onto trucks, and then hand delivered to local families in need. The Basket Brigade stated in 2016 and in that first year they delivered Thanksgiving dinners to 166 families. Last year in 2025, the number of Thanksigiving meals delivered had grown to 1,481, highlighting the growing need in our community for families around the holidays." -Mike
"After speaking with a representative from The Salvation Army, I learned more about the incredible programs they offer to individuals and families in need. From providing emergency shelter and meals to helping families facing food insecurity, their work supports people through some of life's most difficult moments. I was especially drawn to their Angel Tree Program and annual Red Kettle Campaign, which help bring joy and support to local families during the holiday season. Living near the Costal Bend, I see firsthand the need for organizations that provide support to individuals and families facing difficult circumstances." -Sydney
"Our donation is intended to support Unity House’s broader mission of helping individuals and families throughout the Capital Region who are facing difficult circumstances. Whether providing safety to victims of domestic violence, assisting families experiencing financial hardship, or offering housing and other essential services, Unity House makes a meaningful difference in our community. We are proud to support that mission." -Rob
"I just recently heard the news story of this organization rescuing 40 cats from a hoarding situation and felt compelled to help. Although I do not have direct connection to this organization, I have had a love for cats for my entire life and am impressed with the work they do in the community to help in these situations. They are 110% donation based and run by volunteers." - Deb
